The heater core is like a small radiator usually mounted under the dash-board of your car. Hot water from your engine is run through it and then air is blown over it pushing hot air into the car. This system has been used for decades to heat our cars and trucks. occasionally they do develop a leak and have to be replaced. Due to where they are mounted this can be a costly repair.

If you open the driver’s door right there on the door post there will be a factory sticker with the tire information on it. There will be size and speed rating as well as recommended tire pressure. It’s a good rule of thumb to follow these tire recommendations because many of the computer settings as well as speedometer calibration are set for that size tire.

Yes it is, you my have seen on the highway a trailer swaying a bit side to side the most common cause for this is not enough weight in the front of the trailer or not enough tongue weight. the heaviest items need to go in first. If you should find that your trailer is swaying it’s best to get off the road and try a reload, if the sway gets bad enough it can cause you to lose control.

When tires are repaired improperly, the results can be deadly. Be sure to ask your service technician if industry standard procedures are used in the repair process. When a puncture is within the limits established by the industry and properly repaired, you can expect the tire to continue to deliver thousands of miles of safe and reliable performance. A standard we follow is the puncture must not be on the side wall or the outer most treads in either one of these places the tire needs to be replaced to be safe. Have tires been repaired in these areas by shops? Yes but they are taking a big chance with your life! either they don’t have the knowledge of how to repair a tire or they just don’t care about your safety.

Most of the time this is consistent with a brake issue perhaps a caliper not working as it should, but this can also be a signal that there is a suspension problem. If there are worn bushings the suspension cam move when braking and this can cause a pull as well. Ether way this is something that needs to be inspected right away.

Lets face it cars are very expensive and getting more expensive every year. We want to keep our cars as long as we can. That’s where servicing the transmission comes in, the transmission works on friction between clutch plates which creates heat and debris that needs to be flushed out, the more debris in the fluid the more ware on the internal parts of the transmission. A properly serviced transmission can last 200,000 miles or more.

Yes, some service centers in south Florida will add coolant only to your cooling system because we don’t have freezing conditions here, if this happens you have no protection up north. At Poirier’s we always use a product that will protect your engine whether it’s hot or cold. Always a good idea to have it checked.
