Is it important to replace my timing belt at the manufactures recommendations?

This may be one of the most important things to have replaced at the proper time, and by time I mean not just mileage but time it self. You service technician can show you the mileage and time recommendation for this service. If the timing belt brakes on some engines you can cause major engine damage which can easily triple the cost of the timing belt.

Why does my car make a whining sound when I turn?

Many times this can be a problem with the power steering, if the pump is low on fluid it will make a whining sound. If the pump is low on fluid there will be a leak, Power steering fluid won’t evaporate. It’s also a good idea to service the power steering system when recommended this will remove the debris that gets in the fluid and flushing will keep your P/S system in good condition for a long time.

I hear a clicking noise on hard turns, what could this be?

There could be many things making noise on turns, for your safety have your car inspected a.s.a.p. But one of the most common things would be a bad drive axle, as the axle is going bad the outer C.V. joint will begin to make a clicking noise first in turns and if it gets bad enough even going straight on acceleration.

Should the best tires be on the front or rear of my car?

This has been a debate for many years and the answer has changed many times, but right now with the way tires are constructed today the thinking is best on the rear.  The thinking is if the front grips the road better than the rear it may pull the rear of the car around because of less grip in the back. I tend to buy into this theory.

Do I need to change my transmission fluid?

If you don’t change the transmission fluid on schedule, you’ll be lubricating your transmission with metal shavings and other contaminants. This will shorten the transmission’s life. The result could be a major transmission repair or rebuild.images (58) In other words, changing your transmission fluid at the correct interval is a good investment.

Why are some brake jobs more expensive then others?

All brake jobs are not created equal, there are many different types of brake pads and rotors, drums and shoes. You can buy very inexpensive parts, they will work but not near as well or last as long as they should, many times they are noisy, of course they are cheaper. The problem is you are trying to stop a 3000 pound car safely. Please go to a qualified service center that cares more about you and your safety then just making a buck. It may cost a little more but the job will last much longer. and you can have peace of mind.
