My car shakes when I’m stopping, why is this happening?

Most of the time this will be caused by the brake rotors being out of parallel. The rotor is the part that is spinning and the caliper squeezes it to stop the car. If the rotor isn’t perfectly true the brake pads grab and release causing the shake. The rotors can be resurfaced with the proper equipment until  a minimum thickness is reached, then they will have to be replaced.
