Why does my car shake when I apply the brakes?

Most of the time this is caused by brake rotors that are out of parallel that means the thickness of the brake rotor is different when you measure it in different spots around the rotor. This will cause the brake pad to grab the rotor differently at the high and low spots causing the car to shake. many times the rotors will have to be replaced to correct this, but sometimes we can resurface them. download (5)
