Yes brake rotors are built to dissipate heat to keep the brakes at an operating temp. If the rotor is to thin it won’t dissipate the heat properly and the brakes will over heat and the stopping power will decrease leaving you and your family with a braking system not working as well as it should. A good shop will always measure the rotors during a brake job and inform you if they need replaced.

The problem may be a bad engine cooling fan or A/C condenser fan, these fans pull air over the condenser at the front of the car, if they stop working the A/C will get warm when you are stopped. As you drive you are forcing air over the condenser and the A/C will get cold again.

It really depends on where you live. Where we are in south Florida you may have to replace them twice a year, the intense sun just bakes the blade, up north in the winter the blade can freeze to the glass so you may be doing it twice a year there as well. If you are parking in a garage out of the sun you may get as much as a year between replacement. We usually find out we need new ones just as we are in a big storm, so it’s always a good idea to check them occasionally.

Not so fast, that battery warning light can be somewhat misleading, that light will com on if the alternator stops working as well, so with out the proper testing you may replace a good battery and 2 days later that new battery is dead. You should take your car into your service center and have things tested to be sure what the problem is.

It’s always a good idea to have your service center do a performance check on the A/C system each year. It’s much better if you find a potential problem and correct it before the system runs low because this can cause a lot of other problems. The oil that lubricates the compressor runs with the freon through the system if the system runs low the oil won’t get back to lubricate the compressor and this can cause damage.

Most of the time when you just hear one click and no cranking the problem will be in the starter motor, If you hear a rapid series of clicks that would sound like a low voltage problem, possibly a bad battery or bad connection. Either way it’s best to have it checked by your service center to be sure, you don’t want to just start throwing parts at the problem.

Last week for mother’s day I got to take my Mom to a marlins game, she has to be one of the Marlins biggest fans, she is 94 years old but won’t miss a game on T.V. so it was a lot of fun to get her to a game. as you can see she had a great time, so did I.
