This can be caused by a number of things, but the most common would be a separated tire. If the belt or the strong part of the tie fails the air begins to just push against the rubber, this causes a bubble in the tread, that’s what you are feeling. This tire is completely unsafe and needs to be removed now, it will fail and could cause an accident.

There are all kinds of answers to this question, there is even a commercial about a once a year oil change, or manufacturers that say 10,000 miles between oil changes and some that even go longer. I recently did some research on this, what I found is most engine manufactures say that one quart oil consumption in 3,000 miles is normal, some say one quart in 2,000 miles is normal, you add it up in a year you will drive 13,000 miles, your running your engine very low on oil, of course you can check your oil every month and add oil to your engine to keep it full. Or just be safe and do what I do in my own cars, 3,000 miles on conventional oil and 5,000 miles on synthetic, I change it along with the dirty filter. It’s a lot cheaper than a new engine or having other internal engine problems.

This may be one of the most important things to have replaced at the proper time, and by time I mean not just mileage but time it self. You service technician can show you the mileage and time recommendation for this service. If the timing belt brakes on some engines you can cause major engine damage which can easily triple the cost of the timing belt.

Many times this can be a problem with the power steering, if the pump is low on fluid it will make a whining sound. If the pump is low on fluid there will be a leak, Power steering fluid won’t evaporate. It’s also a good idea to service the power steering system when recommended this will remove the debris that gets in the fluid and flushing will keep your P/S system in good condition for a long time.

There could be many things making noise on turns, for your safety have your car inspected a.s.a.p. But one of the most common things would be a bad drive axle, as the axle is going bad the outer C.V. joint will begin to make a clicking noise first in turns and if it gets bad enough even going straight on acceleration.

This has been a debate for many years and the answer has changed many times, but right now with the way tires are constructed today the thinking is best on the rear. The thinking is if the front grips the road better than the rear it may pull the rear of the car around because of less grip in the back. I tend to buy into this theory.

The most common failure would be the window regulator. The regulator has a cable that can break, that would be the noise you hear when trying to operate the window. The only repair for this is to replace the regulator.

Most of the time when you have a shake at any speed the alignment will not be the problem. A shake at 70 M.P.H. most of the time will be either a bad tire or out of balance tire, your certified service center can check this out for you and correct the problem usually very quickly. At Poiriers we have two certified ride control experts on staff.
