The straight answer is no. The sidewall is not constructed like the tread it flexes so much more than the tread, this flexing can cause the plug to pop right out of the tire and you will have a rapid loss of air and a dangerous situation, at P.S.C. we no longer plug any tire no matter where the puncture is for the very same reason. If you patch the side wall the patch can also slide off or again, from the flexing come loose and start leaking. Be safe and replace a tire with a sidewall puncture.
